What’s there in a name? Lots, as was evident at the party organised by Pranay Tidke and wife Meghna for the naming ceremony of their daughter. Many prominent people of the city came to bless the child and wish the couple.
CHOOSING A NAME
The trend these days is to have a unique or a different name for the newly-born. Not to speak of numerology, which also determines the number of characters a name should have. On asking the Tidkes whether this influenced them in any way, Pranay said, "Not at all! We just liked the sound of Khyati. It means fame and I am sure she will live up to it. I don't believe in numerology at all."
GUEST LIST
Apart from some close relatives and friends, the guest list also included few of the city’s who's who. While Vijay Darda found the do an occasion to catch up with some friends, Jyotsna Darda was seen having an extended conversation with the parents of the newborn. We caught up with Jyotsna Darda and asked her about the current brouhaha over names. She said, "In our times, the ceremony and the various rituals were a huge affair. Numerology etc. was secondary."
CATCHING UP
While many guests were enjoying the delicacies, Pushpalata and Vijaykumar Tidke, the grandparents were also busy meeting friends. Businessman Prasanna Gujarathi, who had come from Jalgaon for the function was seen busy in conversation with Vishal Jaiswal.
VAGARIES OF NATURE
With the showers soaking the venue a few hours before the function, Pranay was a worried man. He said, "I was praying that rains do
not act as a party pooper. And thankfully, the function went off without a hitch. This left the host a relieved man.
